TrendCut
Privacy Policy
TrendCut is a weight-trend tracker. It reads the direction of your weight over time and shows it calmly. Your weight data belongs to you: it lives on your device, it is only copied to your own account if you sign in, and it is never used for advertising and never sold.
Data stored on your device
Every weight entry you log is written to a local database on your iPhone first. TrendCut works fully offline — you can use the app without creating an account, without signing in, and without any network connection. If you never sign in, your weight data never leaves your device.
Apple Health (HealthKit)
If you turn on Apple Health, and only after you grant permission in the iOS permission sheet, TrendCut:
- reads your body weight samples from Apple Health, so weigh-ins from a smart scale or another app appear in your trend;
- writes the weight entries you log in TrendCut back to Apple Health, so the rest of your health apps stay in sync.
Body weight is the only data type TrendCut requests. It reads and writes nothing else.
Health data is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, never shared with data brokers, and never used for anything other than showing you your own trend. Health data read from Apple Health is stored on your device and, if you are signed in, synced only to your own account so your history follows you to another device. You can revoke access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → TrendCut.
Account data
Creating an account is optional. If you choose to sign in — with email, Sign in with Apple, or Google — TrendCut stores the following in a database hosted by Supabase, so that your history is backed up and available on your other devices:
- your email address and the sign-in identifiers issued by Apple or Google;
- your weight entries (weight, date and time, and any context tags you add);
- your settings: goal weight, goal mode, units, reminder times, and the optional body profile you can enter for more accurate estimates (age, height, sex, activity level).
Each account can only read and write its own rows; this is enforced by the database itself. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, TrendCut only ever sees Apple's private relay address.
Purchases
TrendCut Premium is sold through Apple. Payments and billing are handled entirely by Apple — TrendCut never sees your card details. Subscription status is processed by RevenueCat, our purchase infrastructure provider, and is keyed to your account identifier so your subscription follows your account rather than a single device.
AI summaries (Premium)
Premium includes short written summaries of your trend. To produce them, TrendCut sends already-derived figures — such as trend direction, rate of change, confidence level, how many days you logged, and any context tags you added to recent entries (for example “Poor sleep” or “Travel”) — to our own server, which passes them to Anthropic, the AI provider whose Claude models write the summary, under Anthropic’s commercial API terms. No name, email address, account identifier, or raw entry history is included in that request. The summaries are generated on demand, are not stored by us beyond a short on-device cache, and are not used by Anthropic or by us to train any models.
What TrendCut does not do
- No advertising, and no advertising or attribution SDKs of any kind.
- No analytics or tracking SDKs. TrendCut does not track you across apps or websites.
- No selling or sharing of your data with data brokers.
- No use of your health data for anything other than the features you can see in the app.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from inside the app: Settings → ACCOUNT → Delete Account. This permanently deletes:
- your authentication user, including your email address and linked Apple/Google identifiers;
- every weight entry synced to your account;
- your synced settings.
The data on the device you are using is cleared at the same time. Deletion is immediate and permanent; it cannot be undone, and it is a real deletion rather than a deactivation. One thing it does not do: your subscription is billed by Apple, so deleting your account does not cancel it — you can manage that in the App Store.
If you never signed in, there is nothing on our side to delete; Reset All Data in Settings clears the local database.
Retention
Synced weight entries and settings are kept for as long as your account exists, because they are your history. They are removed when you delete your account, as described above.
Children
TrendCut is not directed at children under 13 and is not intended for their use.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that affects how your data is handled, the effective date at the top of this page will be updated. Material changes will also be described in the app's release notes.
